flappers

Hi! It's French week over at Papercraft Star, and
here's my vintage-y little piece.
~ Ü ~

It's a flappers themed deco I made for a swap.

Wherever possible, I try to reuse stuff, esp paper, and this is no exception. The image is matted with a used envelope (reused item #1). The stamped image has been trimmed and placed on either side of the main image. I love how the base visually holds everything up, and it's really firm, too! It's cut from the back of a pizza box (reused item #2), then embossed. The letter stickers are adhered, then the whole strip coated in crackle paint. It is simply embellished with a layered flower. And as nearly always, everything had been given the distress treatment.

beach babe

Good morning! I actually have a second creation to share this week!
~ Ü ~

The theme for this is vintage bathing beauty, and I have chosen to use a natural palette, with bits and bobs thrown in. The burlap base gives it a rustic feel, which has been enhanced with bunting and buttons. The bunting flags are cut by hand, then raised with foam pads. I have a thing for flourishes, and have added them on either side to frame the main image. The background is a misted and stamped piece. There's a frame just behind the image, with muted corners and edges all done in swirls and flourishes.

victorian ladies

Oh, it's been so long since my last post. Yup, life does get in the way sometimes . . .

Sharing a deco I made for a victorian theme swap. I'm using a digital image from theHouseAcrosstheBay, and paired it with some frilly die cuts from spellbinders. Finished simply with layered punched flowers, a button and some bling. Oh, and some inking and stamping in the background.
